The second time there was one person ahead of us. One of those times there was a decent sized line. Three out of four times I have been here we waited over 30 minutes in line and ended up leaving before we ordered. Take the negative remarks with a grain of salt and try them for yourself I would definitely go back when I am back in South Carolina. She dipped it in the ranch dressing and the first thing she said was "I bet this ranch is made in house" (I later found out it is) The wings were very meaty, and the BBQ sauce was on point. The crust was cooked just the way I like it. Well, the food actually got to the hotel in about 35 - 45 minutes and it was very hot. I told him that was fine I just wanted the food hot. He did say the order would be about an hour and a half. He wasn't rushing me to hurry up and get off the phone. He took his time and answered a couple questions that I had about the menu. The person I spoke with on the phone was Jacob. We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, 6 wings with BBQ and my wife ordered the buffalo chicken dip. I found Steel City on Google and decided to give them a try. I wanted pizza but not from a chain location. My wife and I were in town for a convention. Not sure why all the negative's unless those people are just too hard to please. They are surviving on past glory and regulars who they obviously smooze. The walls are in need of paint, the restroom is dilapidated with nowhere to hang a coat. I will also go to great lengths to tell this story repeatedly. It ruined our afternoon and as a consequence I will never go back. The classy thing to do was write off my dinner, offer dessert, something, anything to at least acknowledge this. At no time did the owner or his father come over to apologize, offer to compensate or even look over. By that time my family was finished and they sat and watched me eat. So my family proceeded to eat while my hastily prepared meal was done. When the food came out the wrong order was placed in front of me. The owner’s father was socializing with those that he obviously knew while we were seated far to the back, ignored. We were seated and that’s when things went poorly. The menu was not actually a brunch menu but rather a dinner offering. We arrived after the considerable drive from Goose Creek, canceling reservations at several other restaurants because we wanted to support a local non franchise restaurant and because I wanted to experience a part of my heritage. My wife and daughter made reservations for Easter brunch.
We'll be back if we ever visit Charleston again. Everything was super tasty and if I could have eaten more or eaten it again I would have. I had the citrus chilli short rib tacos which came with a salad, hubby had the cilantro limb buffalo shrimp tacos and we shared a side of pomme frites. The food was delicious, I'll go as far as to say it was some of the best we'd had on our trip (we're uk based and this was a holiday). When you go through the door it is everything you weren't expecting when you first see it, cute interior, nice bar to the left and wonderful staff.Ĭandice was our server as we chose to eat at the bar instead of waiting for a table.
